18th World Transplant Games

Date: 17-24 June 2011

Place: Göteborg, Sweden

The triumphant team of Hong Kong athletes who took part in the 18th World Transplant Games in Göteborg, Sweden , have returned with an impressive haul of 43 medals - 8 of them gold, 17 silver and 18 bronze. Led by Dr KF Chau, the Hong Kong Team showed our talent to the world by winning the pétanque game – just after some on-site watch-and-play training! Dr KF Chau was re-elected as the council member of the World Transplant Games Federation (WTGF).
We hosted our celebration ceremony on 10 July 2011. Mr Anthony Wu, Ms Rita Fan and Dr CH Leong came and shared our joy. The activity received widespread media coverage.
The Society is particularly grateful to the accompanying medical team (Dr KF Chau, Dr YW Ho, Dr CH Tam, Mr CL Tsoi, Ms Annabella Suen and Ms Cora Cheung) and the photo team from the pharmaceutical companies.
